3 Fun Ways to Show Your Team You Appreciate Them

When it comes down to it, it’s not about the services or the products or even the profitability that makes a company amazing. It’s about the hard working people who devote much of their life to making the workplace great. Think about it. Employees are the front line of your business – they deal with customers, they solve problems, and they contribute to the bottom line. When they feel appreciated, they tend to bend over backwards for the business.

For this reason and many more, it’s important to show you team that you appreciate them in meaningful (and fun) ways. Here are some employee appreciation ideas you can start implementing as soon as you are done reading this blog post.

Think About What They Most Want

While gift cards and movie tickets can be nice little incentives to give to well-deserving employees, they are not high on the list of desired bonuses. Instead, think about what your employees most want. They are probably looking for a work environment that supports their career goals and work style, the chance to shine in front of peers, and the opportunity to sit back and enjoy the fruits of their labor. Create incentives that address these needs.

Regular Praise Can Go a Long Way

Like mentioned above, there is a strong link between job satisfaction and having one’s emotional needs met at work. Regular praise expressed by leaders, including in front of others, can go a long way towards fostering a positive workplace. Have a monthly staff meeting and make it a point to recognize your team members who have worked hard and contributed much to the company. Make it a big deal.

It’s Time to Celebrate Bigger

Every company owes its success to the people who work there, therefore they should be included in all celebrations concerning the company. Make it a point to openly celebrate high achievers in the company, loyal employees, and those whom have overcome obstacles to accomplish things. Celebrate with a company function several times a year, especially close to goals being met.

When you use the above methods for showing appreciation, employees will start seeing their efforts as connected to company results. This gives them a big boost in pride and morale that nothing else can do.
