Relocating to Atlanta, GA for a New Job? Here Are 6 Places to Visit!

Moving to a new city for work is full of many different emotions, including anticipation, fear, uncertainty, excitement and everything in between. Part of the excitement comes from the fresh start in a new area with different places to explore. If Atlanta, Georgia, is where you’re headed for your new job, here are six places you need to visit.

1. Centennial Olympic Park

Not only is it a beautiful space, it’s a piece of Olympic history! It was designed to be a place of gathering during the 1996 Summer Games and now it’s open to tourists and locals alike. Current uses, beyond basic leisure, include concerts and charity events.

2. Georgia Aquarium

Going to an aquarium is always fascinating, but the Georgia Aquarium has a unique claim to fame – it’s the largest in the world! One of the highlights is the 10-million-gallon tank used as a playground for aquatic wildlife including beluga whales, sharks, dolphins, and penguins!

3. Zoo Atlanta

Continuing the animal trend is Zoo Atlanta, located on approximately 40 acres in Grant Park. Check it out for 200 species of animals representing areas all over the world with more than 1,000 animal occupants.

4. Martin Luther King Jr. Natural Historic Site

Atlanta is full of history and enjoys commemorating it, including the historic site honoring Martin Luther King Jr. Completed in 1982, it recognizes his incredible work and serves as his final resting place.

5. Center for Civil and Human Rights

Further honor the work of Martin Luther King Jr. by visiting the Center for Civil and Human Rights. It connects the Civil Rights movement in the United States to the larger push for Human Rights happening around the world.

6. College Football Hall of Fame

In the south, college football reigns supreme and is celebrated at the College Football Hall of Fame. More than your standard hall, it stands as one of Atlanta’s most interactive attractions and includes the Chick-fil-A Fan Experience.
